About The Tournament
On November 2nd at 1:00pm, the Shiloh Cornhole Association would like to invite you to join the first annual Shiloh Adult Co-Ed Cornhole Tournament. Come hang out and enter a fun competition against your neighbors. Bring food and drinks. We will have a tailgate party with multiple TVs and college football on for those that just want to hang out.
What You Need To Know:
- This is not a Shiloh Farms HOA event. This is a private event put on by your neighbors. All Shiloh and Stone View residents are welcome to participate or just hang out and watch. If you are interested in helping plan and/or help during the event, fill out the contact form or call Christy Louella: 609-760-1645 or Deb Elder 404-316-2584
- We will have 3-4 sets of Cornhole boards (more if necessary) so that tournament play will be faster.
- Everyone is guaranteed at least 4 matches.
- This is a BYOB and potluck event where everyone brings something to share.
- This is an adult event. Children are welcome, but adult competition tends to bring out the explicit language.
- We are aiming to use the tennis pavilion and set up the matches on the field next to it. We will set up some TV’s and put on college football.
Entry
- Teams will be Co-Ed couples. We know this is not always possible, so teams do not need to be married, but we’d like the teams to be co-ed.
- $25 to enter the tournament. Everyone likes cash as a prize, so instead of Paypal or Venmo, we will only accept the $25 cash. The prize breakouts will be something like 60% for the winner, 25% for second, 15% for 3rd.
- Teams will be comprised of Shiloh Farms and Stone View residents and guests of residents only.
- Sign Up Here: https://forms.gle/1eMsEMco8GYcGMKH7 (until October 15th)
- Drop off the $25 cash entry fee to Christy Louella or Deb Elder in an envelope with your team name on it.

VENUE
Shiloh Farms Common Area and Tennis Pavilion
We will be setting TV’s and food up in the tennis pavilion, while the action will be played in the adjacent field. We will get a TV out by the field so no one misses any moment of the game.
Tournament Rules
Ranking Rounds
- Every team will start off with 3 different matches. We will use winnings and point differentials to create a seed for the single-elimination brackets. This will give everyone 3 games to warm up, but the games will still have some meaning.
Single Elimination Rounds (Bracket Madness)
- We will rank the teams from the previous rounds and then create brackets. Eliminations start in this round. Think March Madness.
- Once a team loses, they are eliminated from the main tournament. There will be some side games and TV’s to watch football on.
- Each team will stay in its designated lane for the whole game.
- Players at the headboard will alternate pitching bags until each player has pitched all four of his/her bags.
- Players at the footboard will take score and resume pitching back to the other board.
- The top of an inning is completed when both players pitching from the headboard pitch all four bags; the bottom of the inning is completed when the remaining players pitching from the footboard pitch all four bags.
The approved method of scoring for the sport of cornhole is “cancellation” scoring. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player/team can score in each inning.
- Bag In-The-Count (Woody): Any bag which comes to rest anywhere on top of the board. Each is worth one (1) point.
- Bag In-The-Hole (Cornhole): Any bag which is thrown through the hole or knocked through the hole by another bag. Each is worth three (3) points.
- Foul Bags: Refers to any bag that has not been determined as Bag In-The-Count or Bag In-The Hole or was designated a foul bag as the result of rules violation
The player who scored in the preceding inning has honor pitching first in the next inning. If neither pitcher scores, the player who pitched second (last) in the preceding inning has honors pitching first in the next inning.
- The pitcher must be within the pitcher’s box or behind the foul line at the time of release.
- A player must pitch all four bags from their designated pitcher’s box.
- Players must pitch the bag with an under-hand release.
- The following are rule violations that must be spotted and called by a player or assigned judge. The penalty is to declare the bag a foul bag, which requires the bags to be removed from the court prior to resuming play. A foul bag is defined as:
- Any bag pitched when the player has (1) made contact with or crossed over the foul line, or (2) started or stepped completely outside the pitcher’s box before the bag is released
- Any bag not delivered within the 20-second time limit
- A bag pitched from a different pitcher’s box than the first bag
- Any bag that contacted the court or the ground before coming to rest on the board
- Any bag not fully on and supported by the board. Ie. The bag can not be touching the ground or propped up by a bag on the ground.
- Any bag that struck a previously defined object such as a tree limb, wire, indoor court ceiling, etc.
- A bag that leaves a player’s hand once the final forward swing of the delivery process has started shall count as a pitched bag.
- A bag that is accidentally dropped by a player before the final forward swing has started shall not be considered foul and may be picked up and pitched.
The game shall be played to the predetermined number of twenty-one points. The first player/team to reach (or exceed) that amount is the winner. The winning team must win by 2 points.
